its infuriating but its never gonna change. and not just the guards, our centers come up and jump out of their shoes on any little pump fake at the foul line. i would give up open foul line and baseline jumpers all game long. but instead our guards collapse and give up 3s, or our bigs come up and contest and give up cuts to the basket. so sick of the zone. but louisville shot 2-20 or whatever from 3 so gotta keep playing it.

We recruit higher level players than Buffalo, UConn, Georgetown, St. John’s but they still sometimes beat us.

You’d think we’d knock them off once in awhile. We’ve beaten Duke 4 times, and they’ve been just as good or better.

We’ve gotta figure them out.

Last night could’ve easily been it. Frustrating. Refs kept them in the game in the first half. Then we couldn’t get a rebound or make a FT to save our lives in the second half.

Maye and Johnson weren’t blue chippers. They’ve got better over the years.

We generally have recruited better players than John Beilein especially over the past 5 years yet he’s winning 25-30 games every year at Michigan and getting protected seeds.

I imagine you'll hate this too, but Roy recruits basketball players who are athletes. And somehow gets those kids to stay for far longer than our best guys seem to.

We recruit length for the zone and hope the basketball skill levels will rise to where we need. We HAVE to stop doing that. Especially for the 5 and the 1.

When you leave good players unguarded, they will make shots. This has been an ongoing problem for a long long time. It is especially maddening when you can clearly see a certain player on the other team has the hot hand. Solution, continue to let him bomb away and kill you.

Contrast what we did last night with what Buzz did in the Duke v. VT game. He played a base zone but often had one of his best defenders playing man to man on Barrett. Problem solved.
