As for Marrone, here is a guy who ditched his team and the entire coaching staff that he hired personally. He did so in the most callous and ungrateful way possible - without submitting a public statement thanking the first organization that gave him an NFL head coaching opportunity, the fans, etc. Just left and talked junk about them. I don't care about an opt out contract technicality - that to me is the act of a quitter. Period. And that's a huge red flag for any NFL franchise considering him for their HC position...or any position for that matter.

Meanwhile many of his assistant coaches are still unemployed because of his cash grab. I'm sure they appreciate his sticktoitiveness.

His applying for the Jaguars OC job isn't some grand scheme of his. It's a case of him being caught with his pants down and desperately trying to land the best position possible before he becomes unemployed for an entire year.
