The Bills were better at takeaways and that led to their relative success this season. In fairness to Rex, the Jets had clearly given up on him before the season began and he was a dead coach walking. The Jets have the 2nd biggest cap cache, more than 50% higher than the Bills (who have 22m to play with).
 
I hope Rex does well with the Bills and Doug lands on his feet. Given the Bills cap space, and that the team was the 3rd youngest going into last season, I like Rex's chances with the Bills.
