Patrick Beilein named HC at Mohawk Valley CC

Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't stating that Beilein was going to teach.
My point was that the district would never hire a teacher who had to resign because they otherwise were going to be fired for sexual harassment. So why would they hire a basketball coach who had to resign because they otherwise were going to be fired for sexual harassment?
The shenanigans that go on with Bville teachers is legend. His stuff is nothing

He wasn't fired from Niagara (he resigned) but he would have been. He was not taking "no" for an answer from the staffer he was harassing. Even worse, her significant other was a long time friend of Beilein's who he hired as an assistant.

There were complaints about him at LeMoyne, but he took his act onto a bigger stage before anything was made public.

Hmmm... sounds like maybe he isn't "deserving" of a second chance to rehabilitate his rep then.

Better walk the straight and narrow from this point forward, or...

Didn’t they both go with Beilein to Niagara from Lemoyne? I don’t know anything but just seems weird.

I assume B'ville did their due diligence. I believe in redemption and realize no one is perfect. Whatever the real truth is, I wouldn't believe everything you read here. There is always two sides to every story.

True, and that's fair.

I just haven't followed this story / don't know much about it, so was reacting to the new information presented above.

I just saw that Patrick Beilein resigned from B'ville a month ago. I am wondering if he never learned his lesson. It would be a shame if he didn't.

Exactly. And she was the dobo for the team.

Is that inside info, a rumor or you’re just misremembering? There’s never been any report that Patrick was fired for sexual misconduct or harassment.
I don't know whether he was allowed to resign or was fired but what Max wrote is 100% accurate. As I just wrote in another thread, she was the Dobo for the team and a GF of an assistant coach. There was nothing consensual about this.

Not always. Sometimes things are black and white. One of the problems in our society is that we allow things that are black and white to become grey. I can think of a lot of things where there are definitely not two sides to the story.

I don’t know what happened with Eric Devendorf and his high school coaching gig but I’m assuming it was due to his past, again I’m assuming, that said, I agree how can a high school hire him? Makes zero sense.

I’m not saying the guy should serve a life sentence but high school doesn’t seem like it should be the spot.
If schools fired all teachers for personal relationship issues between staff members, that would result in a massive teacher shortage.

You know what? Having an affair with an adult happens.
If he had an affair with a student, then there is no way this happens.

His background has enough red flags that he is at MVCC and not a higher level program

But he's still young enough to re-energize his career. Lots of head coaches have screwed up and then gone on and done well. Pitino, for one. Beilein just has to be a boy scout.

why . he'll have his pick of players from herkimer, dolgeville, little falls and ilion . go bombers !

I bet they don't have one small school kid on their roster. In fact I bet they have very few section 3;kids at all.
