Way to many open threes for Fordham tonight, when two players are the opposing teams entire offense we might want to find those two guys on defense.

A few random thoughts:
Good to see CJ and Ennis playing well, they looked like stars out there for sure.
Grant was good but to many jumpers, get your butt inside and dominate.
DC still feels the need to power dribble when he gets the ball inside come hell or high water, CTO please yell at him next time he runs by you about going straight up with it.
Memo to BJ Johnson if you want to play in more then 1o games this year, dial back on the threes and dont brick three straight.
Nice hustle game by Keita, wish he played more.
Thought Patterson and silent G looked good out there, nice to see them knock down some jumpers.

I knew Cooney was going to come back down to earth but man he looked bad offensively tonight outside of that one drive. That airball three was tough to watch and not a good sign. He looked rushed out there and nothing like the player from Friday. Hope he gets it turned around and quick, performances like that in Conference simply wont fly.

JB addressed it after last game but we are taking a HUGE step back with Ennis and Cooney on the top of the zone last year in comparison to MCW and Triche. They were probably the best I have seen on the top of the zone during the JB era. MCW's greatest strength that got over looked when people wanted to pile on was his ability to change games defensively.

But so far in 2 games we have had 2 separate people go off. Ennis will get better, but we just don't have the length, and experience as we did last year.

imo we needed a perimeter lockdown guard something fierce to make up for Ennis lack of defense tonight. He was much better in the second half last game.

Problem is you need one good lockdown defensive guard.
Reminds me some of 09-10. Rautins in the 09-10 team made up for sccop and Triches defense, remember that uconn game in the dome where they came storming back and we put rautins back in to help save the day.

I think Cooney and maybe Gbinije could be better then freshmen triche and sophmore scoop but we lack a defensive leader up top. Cooney was trying to get rolling offensively tonight and caught his 4th foul early in the second half. We saw 0 minutes with cooney and gbinije on the court together, they might give up some in ball handling but may be our best 2 defensive guards.

The jump shots of Frazier, Severe and BJ Johnson helped Fordham keep it close.:(
