? - is she viewed as a program player, is she a difference maker, does she move the needle nationally or regionally? All 3 have their own value to the program.

Judging by the other schools who made her top 5, not a big time recruit.
Just afraid Jack isnt going to be able to recruit nationally. Love her as a coach but just havent seen the recruiting results

Hard to argue, but not sure it's completely her fault. I'm sure the schools across the country who are perennial top 25 with larger fanbases have stronger NIL programs. That's going to be hard to overcome.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Additionally, Howard, Furman, Georgia State are probably two steps below a power 5. We should be competing with higher rated recruits regardless of NIL.

I will say that we finished last season ranked #20 in the country. A year after winning 20 games.

I agree with the hesitation surrounding recruiting… But I might let things play out a little bit before jumping to conclusions.

Fair enough. I'm thrilled with what FLJ has done so far on the court and want her to succeed. But Justus is going to have to be a real diamond in the rough considering her other offers, as you mention. She may very well be. It's happened before.

I think we are selling FLJ a little short. She has 1 top-100 and 1 borderline top-100 freshman next year. She also convinced a player from one of the best women's basketball teams (LSU) to play for her. In 2025, she is the 54th-ranked player to commit to Syracuse. I think it will take longer to get back to the glory days before all of the shenanigans but all things considered, I think the recruiting is solid.

Part of the problem is the Lack of NIL funding. Top, "National Players" , are demanding big money! They are not comparing programs based on the traditional things like playing time, style of play, or even compatibility with coaches. They are comparing financial offers. We lost Latham, a top 100 recruit and a really good freshman off of last year's team...because of Money . She went to the other Orange, the Vols. Why? She was already starting, she showed great promise, and would have been a featured player this year and beyond. I think players relate to Coach Jack and want to play for her...but when other schools start offering financial deals that we can't match, it makes it tough!

You make a good point about NIL, Dr Bill. That's why I said exactly that in the very post that you responded to....

Sorry!!! I attached my comments to the wrong post...LOL... We agree! If you take a look at our Mises this year, and where they ended up...It is really weird..and the only answer I can come up with is NIL MONEY!! Here is a prime example: Take a look at our inability to sign a big time post player!! Syracuse is a big time P5 program playing in the ACC, with plenty of playing time available for years to come at the 5 position...yet, we can't sign a big time post player. NY state had two big time 6-5 post players in the previous recruiting cycle and in next years. One will be playing for Notre Dame this year, and the other player, who we recruited since the 8th grade, we didn't make her cut list.

Lack of NIL for the women’s program will not allow them to compete with the better programs in the ACC. They will continue to recruit fringe players because of it. Money talks and SU’s women’s program doesn’t have it. I wonder if they got their treadmill yet?

Do you think the new revenue sharing settlement will correct the problem, If they pay the players it may even out. Can still do nil but 3rd party have to go through a clearing house.

I think there are PLENTY of good WBB teams that have the same exact NIL situation as Syracuse.

Does that mean we are at the same level as most of the ACC? No. But I do think there are plenty of good players out there that you can get to come with minimal NIL.

The whole game is changing soon anyway with revenue sharing. I don't think the standard collective NIL is going to be the same with a third party now able to ensure these deals are not just a pass through pay-for-play deal, which all of them are.

Do you honestly think NIL money is pouring in for many other Women's basketball programs around the country?

More people watched the women's final four than the men's this year. Like 10 million more. It was the most watched college basketball men's or women's since 2019. Things are changing fast and it is not just because of Caitlin Clark.

You don't think Coach FLJ has some idea what she is competing against and why she is losing players? You know more than she does? Wow impressive

What do you think her ideas are about why she has not been able to attract priority targets?
