Pistol Pete footage

Cool clip. How did he pass away?
He accomplished all he did with no one knowing, including Pete, that he played without having any left coronary artery. His right coronary artery was the only source of oxygen and nutrients to supply his heart. It was only discovered from the autopsy after his fatal heart attack at the age of 40 in 1988, amazing everyone.

You want kids to learn why you use the backboard you have them watch Pete and Bird.
Sam Jones of the 60s Celtics was also a master. I had the privilege to see Pistol Pete play once. I was on a two month temporary work assignment in Seattle in the fall of 1978. When the Jazz came to town to play the Sonics, I couldn't miss it.

Billy Owens was a backboard junkie too. He was super efficient with his midrange game. Had an old school game.
