The Panthers have beaten the Orange 14 out of the last 18 and 6 of 7 times they played. Didn't realize that Pitt has been that dominant and today would be a great day for some payback.

Can't recall any other team that has had their way vs. the Cuse in hoops...

We have the basically the record vs Pitt in the last 18 games as we do in the Sweet 16. Lousy. I am shocked that any cuse fan would be surprised by the Pitt stat. It has been absolutely terrible for years against these fools.

Think Pitt will be our main rivalry in the ACC for football and hoops. I don't like these guys either and wondering is Dixon is headed to USC as mentioned in the blogs...

Pitt beats us up. They typically use their brute strength to off set our athleticism and take us completely out of our game. In other words, they punk us. And we take it. It's time for us to dish a little back on them. The way to beat Pitt is to make our shots, limit their offensive rebounds, and keep a lead on them. Make them chase us on the scoreboard. It'll force them to play every possession and not play Dixon ball. Whenever they get a 6 point lead in the second half, Dixon pulls it out and sits on it. That's fine and dandy if we don't give them open threes at 2 seconds on the shot clock or let them draw a foul on us underneath, or give up an offensive rebound. Playing Pitt is like having root canal.

We need to rebound the ball, limit their second chance opportunities, close out on shooters, and get to the line.

If we do those things, we'll win.

Edit: oh yeah, and Triche / Southerland / CJ need to hit a few shots, too.

My entire goal every time we play them is just to not get any of our player's eyes gouged out. Pitt teaches the eye-rake as a tactic and has been using it since the Howland years. I want the entire campus to burn to the ground and then wild dogs to come and piss on the ashes.

We have to run. If we force them into some live ball turnovers and can get up and down the court they'll have trouble keeping up. If we have to settle in a half court game in the 50s, I don't lke our chances. But if we make it a track meet and push the pace, we should move on to tomorrow.

Yep, defensive rebounds will tell the story. They just crushed us on offensive boards last time, looked like men playing children.

They also didn't have to face Southerland last time. Hopefully they see something closer to yesterday's version, not the 2 previous games.

Totally agree.
Amazed CJ & Dirty don't/can't box out . Also amazed how many times they let the guy they are "guarding" in the zone get between them and the basket (before the shot even goes up)

I agree, but when was the last time we got Pitt into a track meet? They ALWAYS force their tempo and garbage style of play on us, and we almost always end up with the L because of it. I hate that they're following us to the ACC.

YES! This should be a game where Triche and MCW live at the line.
