Was shafers call for the corner blitz from reddish on the last Pitt drive of the game.

It was like shafer was waiting all game to pull that trigger.

Took them out of field goal position to take the lead. Agreed.

They should've been blitzing way more like that during the game. It wasn't hard to see going into this game, and during the game, that Sunseri is a cripple when under pressure.

Again, play to the strength of your team. In SU's case, they are great at blitzing, yet wasn't fully utilized tonight.

More than happy with the W though.

With all due respect, you are wrong on this one. In the chat room, before the play occurred, we called it the play of the season. And thankfully, it was perfectly executed.

The season literally may have turned on that play.

I'd go with the Nassib scramble for a first down on 3rd down early in the final drive

Didn't blitz enough. They had hit 4 3rd and longs with us sending 3. We sent 6 and bingo.

Great play call indeed, but I would have liked to see a few more third down pressure calls instead of dropping 8 into zone coverage. The ONE defensive weakness I saw tonight was guys playing a zone with no receivers anywhere near them and no one around to threaten their zone. As coaches always say "if no one is in your zone, you gotta find work." We didn't do a good job "finding work" when rushing only three, instead had guys covering no one, so I would've liked to see us rush more than three.

Agreed all around. Sending 3 or 4 wasn't working for our zone d. We needed pressure.
