Austin Wilsons pick - no pressure just threw it to the other team
Esk dropped pick - no comment
Morris and the TE dropped passes (after a spectacular catch OOBs) - Morris' drop really hurt

The QB's are serviceable. We look like a football team.

Different week, exact same story.

Players have been in position to make plays, but just haven't been able to make them.

We have looked like a football team in past weeks too.

This week we're playing FSU. It's a lot more understandable than against Maryland and VillafreakingNova

The mistakes we make are those that are inexcusable no matter the opponent.

Dropping passes when wide open has absolutely nothing to do with the name on the other jersey.

SU isn't very deep at the skill positions. They just lack talent and explosiveness in those spots

Eskeridge absolutely needs to make that interception. That's a huge play you cannot afford to 'up.

That and about 5 open field tackles he missed today. He has really struggled this year.

Defense ehhh yikes.

On offense, I think we have playmakers, when healthy in AAM, Erv, Ishmael, Parris, Broyld, and Estime. With AJ Long at QB, I think these guys could be pretty dynamic. If they can gel this year, next year should be real exciting.

Lots of the same old self inflicted mistakes today is really frustrating, yet again.

Yep. Bad when you are counting the amount of missed tackles. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he is playing injured because his tackling has been brutal.

As I said in the chatroom, Wilson's pick is a TD if both players are experienced and recognize that the defender was overplaying the short pass. Wilson should have pump faked the short throw, the WR jukes short and goes to the endzone. There was no one else in that corner.

I just want guys that can catch and turn. Don't need explosiveness to catch the ball

Bingo. D way overplayed that and Wilson had the time to wait another count. Inexperience there.

But not against FSU. We played well enough to win. Recent teams couldn't have done that. This was a step up.
Things I see that are big problems, foremost , and I am serious, haven't the ability to cover NFL level talent receivers. FSU had 2 of them, perhaps 3. Winston just had to play catch.
We still drop too many passes, but the number of "thrown behind the receiver " passes went down.
Penalties. Well this has been a problem for 30 yrs, perhaps this is just like basketball and their foul shots.
A lot of penalties looked like bad calls vs us but the replay backed the original call most times.
Good points: PTG and Moore are tough cats. Just wish they could do this every game. Phillips will be REAL good next year. REAL good. And we have AJ for 3-1/2 more years.

Excellent point. A little experience will fix that.

Right on, I was practicing my pump fake and go pass . Their corner would have bit hard!!

Exactly correct. Although, it allows a certain football savviness and coaching faith to let them do that.
