Thrilled with Howard's transformation, love their grit, love the clearly defined roles, love how they fit what boeheim's most comfortable with, very confident in battle as a one on one go-to guy when things inevitably unravel from time to time

Yes -- the 3 frosh are much better than expected.

Two big keys -- we have 3 guys on the perimeter (Howard, Battle and Brissett) who can handle, are threats to drive, and can shoot mid-range. Brissett isn't hitting with a good percentage yet, but he can get his shot and will get better. The point is that all three have all-around games, and we haven't had that in a while.

Second -- defense (helped by size at the top of the zone) and rebounding. Brissett is a terrific rebounder, and Dolezaj is a good complimentary rebounder.

We aren't going to out-shoot many teams from the 3 point line. This team needs to be scrappy (steals, rebounds) -- and the perimeter players need to get to the basket, or at least inside for floaters or pull-ups.
