I get that it's earlier in the day and warmer. And historically, outdoor games on decommissioned amphibious ships have never ever been cancelled.
But, the first time somebody slips, whether on one of the stupid decals on the court, or just due to dumb luck, don't you think there will be a huge reaction (over-reaction?) by the refs and both schools?
By that time, it will be too late to move the game. B/c it's so far away, it's almost unfathomable that we'd make an extra trip out there (or vice versa) in December or January to do it the right way, in a regular gym. Then we're stuck with a non-conference schedule that allows even less margin of error come tournament seeding time (a 10 seed, a 13 seed, and a 16 seed, according to SI).
