I always try to step outside our Orange World and play non-partisan fan when we hire our coach. This will be viewed with a yawn nationally. It doesn't mean it won't work, it's just the easiest road.

And for anybody looking to jump on me, I like Shafer and Hackett a lot. I just think our administration should atleast take its time (and yes I'm aware of restraints due to Signing Day) and look around to see if we could have done better.

Now that the decision has been made though, I will be supportive and think Shafer will do a nice job (with a limited upside IMO).  He's a fun guy to watch coach and I'm thrilled that Hackett will be back.  If we were going his route,  I didn't want to upset the momentum that our Offensive system has been gaining.
