good stuff troop, you must be over the moon the Cuse is coming right to you!. No doubt any first timers who want to (and they Should!) experience "Vegas" should stay right on the strip and experience quintessential Vegas. More cool old time Vegas stuff is to stay on freemont street downtown at the golden nugget down there. Very cool with the old vegas vibe the newer Freemont street experience overhead, zip liners darting over ya, etc., was very cool, at least it was 5+ years ago. Those of us who have been there way too many times avoid the strip like the plague and stay off the strip. My favorite which is by where my parents lived for 20+ years out by red rock canyon, which as you know is essentially a miniature grand canyon, so seemingly misplaced in Vegas like it just doesn't belong in las vegas. Anyway The resort there of the same name is just the best (lately best know as the place Ronny the limo driver got married!). Gorgeous, close enough but just far away enough to the strip, etc., but has everything that any Vegas resort has but much more low-key just by virtue of the fact it’s away from all the insanity. Recommend this place to anyone who wants a more “relaxed” Vegas. (edit: one last thing, think its the Tropicana that's coming down for the baseball stadium, not Excalibur)
