Media Poll: Maryland, Florida Lead Pack

No. 1 Maryland continues to lead the Media Poll into week six of women’s Division I action, while Florida is the undisputed No. 2 after jumping out to a 7-0 start on the season with key wins over UNC, Syracuse and Stony Brook. The Orange sits at No. 3, while No. 4 Louisville edges out North Carolina by one point making the jump from 11, and the Tar Heels round out the top five.

No. 6 Princeton remains, while No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 8 Stony Brook, No. 9 Virginia and No. 10 Penn State round out the top ten.

Boston College and Towson are tied for 15th in this week’s poll.

IWLCA Polls: Division I, II & III

The IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll features the University of Maryland on top again, while the number two and three teams switched places after Florida prevailed over Syracuse in the Carrier Dome last week. Florida (#2) improved to 7-0, which included a win over #10 Stony Brook. Notre Dame was knocked out of the top five after their 10-9 overtime loss to Louisville, who made a big jump into that spot from the #12 position on the strength of wins over Notre Dame and Northwestern.
