Northwestern is back in the No. 1 slot for Week 8 of the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll, as the Wildcats earned a pair of wins over North Carolina and Rutgers last week.

Maryland slid into the second slot, after splitting their week with a loss against No. 7 Penn and a win over No. 5 Michigan on Saturday. Syracuse and Boston College round out the Top 5, ranking third and fourth, respectively. The top four teams all received first-place votes.

Penn’s midweek win over Maryland boosted the Quakers into the Top 10 for the first time this season. The Quakers’ only loss of the year was vs. Michigan in mid-March.

3. Syracuse
A big win over Loyola midweek followed by an ACC win over Louisville. Syracuse has a few games they’re favored in to come vs. Pitt and Clemson before its finale against Boston College on April 18. Emma Tyrrell has been consistently strong after a slow start to her season, averaging 5.5 points per game in the Orange’s past six games.
