2. Syracuse
The Sunday matinee against Boston U from the warm Dome saw FOGO Johnny Mullen (14-of-19) dominate the action. The Orange passing was crisp and applied pressure on the Terriers, who hung tough early. Two quick goals in less than 15 seconds in the third quarter ballooned a 6-3 halftime lead into an 8-3 advantage. At 12-6 entering the fourth quarter, SU defenders were winning their one-on-one matchups and big lefty goalie Jimmy McCool (12 saves) looked sharp. Defender Riley Figueiras, a year further removed from ACL surgery, was stout. Otto was not efficient clearing against the 10-man ride, but they’ll take a 13-6 home win to get things rolling in Central N.Y. St. Joe’s visits on Saturday.
