The opening month of lacrosse has been a thriller with multiple upsets, overtime wins, and excitement. Week 3 was no different, resulting in a big week of shakeups in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll.

Boston College returned to the No. 1 spot, voted unanimously, while James Madison and Northwestern each moved up one spot into the second and third slot, respectively. With an upset win against Notre Dame over the weekend, Syracuse jumped back into the fourth spot while the Fighting Irish follow to round out the Top 5.

The other notable upset was No. 11 Florida beating No. 9 Maryland in College Park, marking the Gators’ first win on the season.

Seems fair.
I was expecting to be in the top four but didn't realize Maryland had lost (to #16 Florida).

The good news is there is plenty of time and some good chances to make up ground over the course of the season.

What a brutal schedule to start the season for Syracuse.
