What we’ve expected most of the year is now official: No. 1 vs. No. 2 is up next.
No. 1 Boston College is at No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday, continuing what has been the sport's best rivalry over the last several years and is possibly the first of three high-stakes matchups between the Eagles and Tar Heels.
There is no surprise they are 1-2 in the latest KANE Women’s DI Media Poll. They are the established top two, and Northwestern remains at three after losing to Carolina last Thursday. Johns Hopkins, which earned another impressive win by topping James Madison, is at No. 4 followed by Florida. Syracuse moved up one spot to 6, and Princeton is No. 7 after its eighth-straight win.
Stanford, Yale and Michigan all dropped, creating some space for teams like Loyola, Brown and Army (unranked last week) to step up.
