The annual reminder: The eye test is not the same as the NCAA Tournament criteria.

So the KANE Men’s DI Media Poll — more a reflection of the “eye test” from the perspective of media members who regularly cover the sport — can differ from the NCAA Tournament field

One area it’s the same: Cornell is still clear No. 1.

The most notable difference is Army, the highest-ranked team not in the Tournament. The Black Knights check in at No. 11. Their loss in the Patriot League Semifinals halted their chances at an NCAA run. The team that beat them, Colgate, is the big winner in the Poll, going from unranked to 15.

UAlbany and Siena — who will meet in a landmark day for the Capital Region in Wednesday's play-in game— won their conferences and enter the poll at 19 and 20.

The Week 13 poll is the last until after Memorial Day.
