Position By Position Preview - Power Forward

Really excited to see what we have in Rakeem. He's played zone before so it should come pretty naturally to him, and I think we'll get more offensive output than people think. 6-7 ppg would be excellent.

If we can get 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game from Rak in about 20-25 minutes per game, that'd be HUGE for this team. I'm excited to see him develop too. He's got tons of talent and crazy athletic ability.

I'm thinking that 5, 5, and 1 in about 15-20 minutes would be a fine start for him. Get him a good experience, some continued strength and conditioning, and send him into next summer ready to make a Rick Jackson -style improvement.

It's nice to have enough talent to be able to bring in a McDonald's kid and get him starter experience without relying on him to win games.

I'd take it. I'm shooting a little higher but it could be something where early in the season he's a little lower than your numbers but by BET and NCAA tournament time he's a 6/6/2 or 6/8/2 type guy. I do expect improvement during the season.

But you're right on with your point on McDonald's kids and not relying on them. Great situation to be in.

Also, we have another McDonald's kid that's basically our 4th guard (MCW). When you take a step back and think about it, pretty amazing how much talent we have.

It's a good think, for sure (and I think Carter-Williams has the highest potential of everyone on the roster - I don't expect big things from him this season, but he could be top-3 in the draft someday if he works hard and puts it together).
