I, am in favor of kids being able to move freely, but recognize some concerns. Some possible protections:
All scholarships are 5 years;
1. The receiving school must reimburse the original school for the money expensed for the attendance at the first school. Think of it as a buy out of the contract;
2. Limit the number of transfer students on any roster ( Maybe one per year, or just a maximum);
3. Sever penalties for tampering, including suspension of head coaches for a year, without pay, and loss of scholarships for 10 years (2 five year scholarships).
4. The original school can block a transfer with evidence of tampering, subject to a hearing. If people refuse to testify or provide requested documents, there will be a presumption that the requested testimony/documents would tend to prove the tampering.
Just a thought. The current situation, in the scope of things, is not a big deal, but things should be on the up and up.
