Sorry if these specific dates have already been mentioned. Per Teel...

"Realignment likely will re-emerge on June 20 when Slive and his colleagues from the Big 12, ACC, Pacific 12, Big Ten and Big East convene in Chicago to continue hashing out college football’s postseason structure for 2014 and beyond."

"Presuming the commissioners agree to a format at their Chicago meetings, they will forward a proposal to the BCS’ Presidential Oversight Committee. Chaired by Virginia Tech’s Charles Steger, that group is scheduled to meet June 26 in Washington, D.C."

My solution. 5 conference champs. 3 at large. Play at highest seed 1st round. Use bowls last 3 games. Non conference SOS must be factored into formula for at larges. All teams must play equal amount of H/A non-conf. games over any 2 year period.

You'll get a 4 team playoff with one of these three options:

1. Top 4 teams (regardless of conference). SEC and BEVO like this option so they can get multiple teams in.

2. Top 4 conference champions, as long as everyone is ranked in the Top 6. Keeps the ACC and the BE in the picture.

3. Top 3 conference champions + 1 at large. Keeps ND happy.

People hate change. Going from a 2 team playoff to an 8 team playoff is too drastic. Maybe some day.

I like it. Have a committee select the at-large teams as is done in hoops. They tend to do a decent job, even if there is always quibbling about the margins. The OOC scheduling issue could be a zonker tho.

If the Top four teams regardless of conference is the eventual choice and there is no stipulation that the big 12 must have a championship game then i think that 100 precent that no team from either the Big east or the ACC will get into the Big 12,Texas and Oklahoma will have no incentive whatsoever to expand. Why ruin your chance to have two teams in by having a conference championship? Why invite more teams to share the pot when you have a bowl tie in with the SEC and a chance to have two teams get in the playoff?

Works for me. To make it even better: play the semi-finals in the Orange Bowl and Fiesta Bowl, since the Rose and Sugar opted to make their own little deals already. Then a standalone Championship Game.

Done.
