Rotate more players on D. Williams and Richards need every third series. Shy every fourth. Only play 4/2 in obvious passing downs. Also let our personnel dictate 4-2 or 4-3. As example if Foster Clarke Ant are healthy 4-2 can work.

On short yardage situations play more size on D. Put Williams at ML. Heck put Ruff in as a situational ML. We need size. Whit Armstrong and to a lesser degree Guthrie simply do not have the size or strength play effectively in short yardage situations.

On O. Give Tommy one or two series per half, more if Erics shoulder doesnt improve. If TD had played yesterday we win going away. ED WHEN HEALTHY provides us with the best chance to win. Pitt played man to man press yesterday which forces good throws. Eric missed on 20 passes, was picked off twice and gave up a score. As a result of a bone head play. The second half of the Clemson game and yesterday's debacle are without a doubt the worst 6 quarters of ball has played in his time at SU. And NO Clemsons D was not the reason. Pitts D was certainly not the reason. Its because he is hurt. He simply cant throw the ball. His timing, footwork and mechanics are all off as a result of injury. Enough said. Yesterday Tommy would have shredded these guys and made them pay for the man coverage.

Next point use our weapons better. Find a way to get Strickland more reps in the slot. He has the strength to beat press coverage, great hands, and is IMHOP our best slot receiver. He nerds to be on the field. Next. Play Howard. The kid is a natural. He is our best back. He needs reps. Rotate him and Mo. Only use Strick at RB if one of them is hurt.
As to WR start 80 and keep him in the game. He is our future. Does he maje mistakes yes. Is he our most talented WR yes.
Last point. Call plays that best utilize your talent. A corner route to a 5-8 slot receiver who weighs 160 pounds vs to Custis. Head scratcher. Why dont we run sweeps. Not jet sweeps but goold fashioned load up and pull sweeps. Our OL guys all can run. I would love to see MO behind a true sweep. Anyway enough of my rant. I truly believe both of these losses are on the staff. They are in the big leagues now. Dino can hang with almost any head coach the country. He has shown an unbelievable ability to run a great program. Unfortunately we have an OC and DC that are not in the same league as their ACC counter parts. Lewis was brilliant. He had IT and we have regressed considerably without him. Ward doesn't have it, is mediocre at best which is why Dino pulled him from the box. If Dino wants to improve our program i hope he has the balls to make some tough calls.
4-2 should be 6-0. There isnt a game left that we cant win or lose. Time for the coaches to step up.

Came in thinking this was gonna be a picture thread of remotes in TV's, holes in walls, etc., a little bummed now.

Agree with most although would not put Ruff at Mike. He got too big. I just need to see something different at LB.

I think Whit is probably the odd man out. Or he can play strong safety against BC.

Need Strick at slot he is our only physical option. Want to see Williams at LB in short yardage situations.

Convinced after reading the board in the last 18 hours that people’s expectations of Devito are unbelievably high. To the point that many people and I mean many cannot see any other possible result other than us winning if he played. With virtually no evidence to the fact that this would be the case.

I am a fan of Devitos skill set but we are suffering from backup QB syndrome in my opinion. I agree if ED is hurt Devito should play, but if that happens it does not guarantee he plays well.

The thing is, I'd take it even if all DeVito does is gets the dbs running because he throws some incomplete bombs, and slings out some screens quick that they stuff right away. Defenses sometimes look comfortable against us this season, even with our hurry up to the line. That's not good.

I thought more than once when I saw the Pitt dbs right up to the line that just having DeVito in for a series or two might have helped to back them off.

I agree. ED is hurt. Devito played extremely well against a much better secondary in the FSU game. He should have recieved a few series given how Eric was playing.

If I was the DC, I'd think pretty hard about installing a situational 50 defense package over the break. Not an Okie, but a true 5-2 with 5 down linemen. Slayton is certainly capable of handling double A-gap responsibility. Slide him in to NG, and add a tackle to the other 3 current DL starters. We need to be plugging holes at the LOS, and getting more beef in the gaps at the snap would make opening running lanes harder, and hopefully keep the OL off our linebackers to keep them from getting blown out of the play. It would also let us sub fresh legs at LB since only 2 of the 3 current starters would be on the field at once, and apparently they're the only 3 guys that can play LB.

I have more faith in our secondary being on an island against the pass than I do in our LB being on an island against the run.

We would probably get WR screened to death, but even if that happened it would be at least be something different than what we've seen the last 2 weeks.

No he is really slow watch him running down sideline chasing guys it’s not pretty.

Coaches are laughing since you got them the extra $3m and told them Strick is their best weapon in the slot.
