We certainly are okay. Actually, IMO, I feel were have fared quite well on the injury front, even though some here may suggest otherwise. We are now going into the 9 week of the season and eighth game. It's football and all teams are dealing with "bumps and bruises" and injuries. We lost Elmore very early in our first game against Louisville. He, for the most part, hadn't played much for two years, so tangible loss of production is/was very difficult to measure anyway. Losing Thompson in our first game was more significant IMO, however, again, it was the 1st half of our 1st game. McDonald seemingly has been able to step in and perform admirably. Lockett going down was significant, as he appeared to have stepped up from last year's production prior to injury and headed towards a very solid season. Darton, however, has seemingly filled in admirably as well. Jones was dealing with the shoulder injury in camp, and apparently playing through it up until being out for good after the Purdue game. However, fact of the matter is, looking objectively at his numbers from last year, etc. and even prior to the Purdue game, his numbers should've been not too difficult to replace. Williams appeared to almost be ready to go against Clemson, so no doubt he was missed, however, our defense didn't appear to skip much of a beat as the D was very solid, and coming up with 4 turnovers to boot. The problem was our anemic offense in the 2nd half and doing absolutely nothing with back to back turnovers in the 3rd. Williams, as you mentioned, undoubtedly will be back for the ND IMO. All and all, IMO, we have been pretty fortunate so far this season...9 weeks in. And, the 7th season of Dino in having plenty of years/time to build a sufficient P5 roster and getting through the normal/foreseen ebbs and flow of a football season.
