Just watched the post-game press conference and is it me, or was Kris and Scoop's demeanor... umm... odd. I loved JB's handling of everything, but KJ and SJ seemed weird. I'm no psychologist but it was shocking how un-phased by their horrendous performances they were. And I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing.

Anyone else get a read on that or have I lost it.

Carry on.

I thought they were a bit goofy. I chalked it up to them being amused by JB's sarcastic way with the press. I think they like that. Also, they have had to sit through so many BS questions this year, they probably think the media is as much of a joke as many of us on this board do.

I thought the same thing. Then I realized they are immature 20 somethings acting like immature 20 somethings. While it would have made me fell better if they came out and stated that they were not satisfied by their own level of play in the first half and that they have to improve or they will be an early exit, I'm sure JB gave them marching orders to not stray far from the usual platitudes. The silly laughter was indeed a head scratcher.

i think it is easier to understand if you watch the asheville PC first. they basically bitched about the refs for 20 minutes straight and kept saying that the better team didn't win. not once did they give syracuse any credit, it was low class as far as press conferences go. boeheim was obviously pissed, and i think kris and scoop thought it was funny. and then some reporter asks them to comments on the asheville clowns saying the better team didn't win, i mean what are they supposed to do? agree?

Cant we chalk it up as 20 somethings who just won a basketball game, enjoying themselves? They know they didnt play well the whole game, they know they need to play better. Them telling us that isnt going to make them play better. Let them have fun. Isnt that why we play the game?

It is a combination of the above...plus going from a hostile crowd to the lows of knowing they could lose the game, the high of getting out with a win, the noisy locker room with postgame comments from JB and sharing the moment with teamates. Then, they are walked to a dead slient room with someone in the most boring monotone voice saying "we will now take questions for the student atheletes" with a bunch of people staring at you. Then trying to be composed and give answers while not saying anything the media can have a field day with...to me, them being comfortable enough to be themselves is a good thing.

I think it's my fault. When RF started the thread about "What I'd like to see" most people said Rak this and KJ that. What I said was "I'd like to see walk-ons and smiles." I wasn't specific. I should have said our walk-ons and smiles during the game. Sorry, I'll try to get it right for KSU.
