SEC: No postponements, etc. due to Covid. Forfeits will be awarded.

Only 6 of 14 league teams have reached 80% vaccination rate.

So what happens if both teams in the same week reach the threshold for a forfeit? Do they both get a loss?

Do we know what the % is for SU Football?
SU is requiring all students to be Vax'ed for fall, same as Le Moyne:

Accordingly, as of June 1, Syracuse University will require a COVID-19 vaccination for all students, faculty and staff who access campus over the summer months. All new and returning students as well as faculty and staff will be required to be vaccinated prior to the Fall 2021 semester.

That leaves a lot of discretion to the Commissioner. Say that both teams are fully vaccinated but one team gets a COVID case because a player attended a party and had a breakthrough. Is that the team's fault, and they should suffer the forfeit?

One Covid case shouldn't trigger a forfeit.

Now if you're down to just 1 QB or 4 healthy OL's, that's a different story.

acc released similar last week except double forfeits mean losses for both

really means they team that can hold out the longest gets the win.. if the other team cant play and you might not be able to play, just wait out as long as you can.. did they announce how the timing works? do teams have to say by friday at some time whether they can field a team? or is it a morning of thing?

i didnt read it fully but id guess a decisions has to be made by the time the away team has to travel and possibly independently reviewed in league office as to make sure your situation doesnt happen

If you’re traveling to a game you better have refundable game tickets as well as hotel and airfare reservations. If teams can wait until Friday or Thursday to announce their inability to play, a lot of fans will get screwed.

no different than any other year though. games got cancelled last yr late notice as well. game tickets will be refunded most likely since the game was never played or rescheduled.

So no chance the head coach wasn't around dozens of his staff and team members over the last week.

I'm sure there are more on that squad that will come out next few days ...

A lot of places have done away with contact tracing. They're probably only going to worry about people that test positive. The easy thing to do there is only test symptomatic people unless a governing body requires more.

At the VT-UNC game last night, fans were required to wear masks in certain areas of the stadium but not when in their seats. No vaccination or testing requirement to enter the stadium. My first thought was super spreader event as Virginia is experiencing high transmission rates. It will be interesting to see which ACC school is the first to have to forfeit a game.

wonder as a season ticket holder if there is game forfeited at the dome do season ticket holder receive credit towards next years seats?

Huh? Only test symptomatic people? That would be the height of idiocy. They need to be testing everyone on a regular basis.

if your vaxed there isnt a need to go get tested if your asymptomatic though
