I'm going to the game saturday with a good friend, we both turned 21 this year so we can finally drink legally. We're from the Rochester area and are looking to have some beer and fun before the game. Any suggestions? Could we get into frat house tailgates without people caring if we have our own beverages? Thanks for the help and let's get LOUD.

Yeah - why take a chance of this happening?

Come to the Fine Mess tailgate. Why are you looking for some second-rate experience?
There will be a lot of food and beer and some interesting people to meet as well at the Fine Lot. You can either bring something and partake for free or bring some money and contribute that way. C'mon down!

Walk up Walnut Park at noon or so and soak in the experience.

But then make your way to Fine Mess, where the food is better and the company is both more friendly and way more dialed in to the football scene.

I have a feeling the scene at the Fine Lot is not really what these boys have in mind.

I'm 22 and my girl friend and I are coming in from Buffalo and Im trying to figure out what were going to do before the game as well. I'm from Syracuse and I have a ton of friends here but idk which scene I wanna be apart of and was kind of thinking about checking things out over at the Fine lot because I don't know how hard I'm trying to go haha... Not to say you gents over at the Fine lot aren't a bunch of crazy go-hards... I guess I'd just feel weird showing up where I don't really know anyone and if I go to house parties before at least I'm in my comfort zone.

Chucks, bro. That's if you wanna get crazy and drink insane amounts of beer and no one will judge you. Or go to the Fine Mess and chill and meet the board members eat some grub and kick back and chill.

Will her mood for amore be tempered by the score?
If yes, I suggest, use your room before Clemson scores.

Just a genuine heads up (I don't mean to be a d**k), you're most likely not going to be welcome at any of the frats. If you're looking for an alternative to that scene you might wanna check out the Castle C0urt Parking lot [all the way at the end of Walnut).

Speaking of Walnut Park, how tough will it be to park if I get there around 11:30? I thought this would be a good place for my kids to run around and also take part in the Quad festivities.

If you wanna get rowdy, feel free to stop up at my tailgate. Upper corner of the standart lot, just listen for the vuvuzuela. That's me. Ill be there between 6 and 7 am. Have a deep fryer with an assortment, and ill be using a weber to smoke a pork butt for some pulled pork. It'll be a blast. Not many of us. Usually 10-20. Hoping for a bigger turnout for this game though. Not many fans get rowdier than I do.

That's PeteCalvin's wet dream right there. When he pledged my chapter, he arrived with his own goats, 2 sheep (one of each gender) a donkey (male, natch) and more duct tape and vaseline than any one person should be allowed to have.

To each his own, I say.

On the 500 or 600 blocks, probably not a problem (heed the odd/even rules, of course). The closer to the park you get, the tougher it'll be to find a space.

I would probably try to grab an on-street space on the block of Genesee between Walnut and Comstock. That block is usually pretty empty at that time (fewer residents park on the street, since there's a medical office building there); it's two blocks from the park.

Definitely not. But those tailgates anyway. Plenty better places to go.

Thanks for the advice friends, I was thinking about going to chucks but since the weathers nice I figured most people would be outside having fun. We park at the University Ave parking garage, is Walnut st in that area?
