I think it has to be a coach who runs a similar system so that you can plug and play the guys you already have in place. One coach I watch and will watch with interest this off season is Charlie Strong. His offensive coordinator is Sterlin Gilbert who is a Babers disciple and a very good OC/QB coach. I've been intrigued by this combo of smashmouth D-Head Coach paired with a Babers offense. Gilbert came from the Texas HS ranks and OC'd for Babers at Eastern Illinois and BG. Then ran Tulsa with Montgomery before hooking up with Strong at Texas and now USF. His ppg game after leaving HCDB 2015 - Tulsa - 34 2016 - Texas - 32 2017 - USF - 38 2018 - USF - 36 I wouldn't want this guy as a HC but Strong is certainly a very good Head Coach and I find it interesting to see a Defensive HC paired with a Babers offense.
