It was funny watching Knicks highlights on espn and hearing them reference Ward as the best QB in NY. Back when sportcenter anchors understood they and sports should be entertaining, and they weren't all trying to be analysts.Crazy how weak that QB class was. To be fair Ward might have been decent in today's NFL O systems.
Ward though was not very accurate. He thrived in open field, and another example of playing QB when the skill guys are so much better than most every team you play. Guys are going to be open and when you stress the field on broken plays they will get even more wide open and make big plays.
"Being compared to Archie Manning" cracks me up. That sentence fragment can never ever possibly happen again, right? Especially at Tennessee.
I think he is Murray.. Mayfield is a better leader who is willing to take hits with less talent. He was 69.5% his SR year in an era that did not dink and dunk. There are a lot of bad QBs in the NFL. I think he could have started somewhere. Is he really all that different than Murray or Mayfield?
I laughed too, but to be fair, the comparison may have been “He’s no Archie Manning.”"Being compared to Archie Manning" cracks me up. That sentence fragment can never ever possibly happen again, right? Especially at Tennessee.
Would've been interesting to see if Graves would've had a shot in this era too. With the rules for QB protection we've seen the smaller mobile QBs have so much success. He was 69.5% his SR year in an era that did not dink and dunk. There are a lot of bad QBs in the NFL. I suppose we could see the fragment in the context of "He is no Peyton Manning... or even Eli Manning... or even Arch Manning... but he is compared favorably to Archie Manning at his current age/ability."I laughed too, but to be fair, the comparison may have been “He’s no Archie Manning.”
