We aren't.

Our defense is elite level and our offense, while still rocky at times, has developed an explosive gear.

However, I agree with the OP. I think our press is pretty good and I think, even if we don't turn them over, only giving them 20 seconds to probe compared to 25 seconds makes a big difference.

Every 4 minutes they get a 5 minute rest, plus timeouts and halftime.

We shouldn't be Louisville and press all game but we should, IMO, press/token press half of the game.

Howard and DC can also rotate in throughout the game and allow rest for everyone.

I might lose it if we allow them to roll the ball to half court all game again.

Yeah I agree. Not sure how it would be possible to press all game playing 7 guys. Throwing it in throughout the game could help though. Anything to throw them off.

Nor are we Steve! At this point it's getting increasingly difficult to doubt the power of JB's game planning coupled with the heart and drive of this team. For me, they deserve the benefit of the doubt that they have the ability to surprisingly play with anyone.

No I agree we can't let them dictate the pace of this game. I'd love to see a press...I'm a little worried about them breaking it though. Lydons been great but he's no Jeremy McNeil protecting the rim.

I've been saying all year that with shortened shot clock - run a 1-3-1 to work off an extra 5-6 seconds then drop back to the 2-3. Doesn't take much energy and effectively puts the opponent on a 24 second shot clock. Throwing in a surprise press following a time out would be good too.

You can run a token trap press that is designed to chew up the shot clock and not expend the energy needed to run a full court press.

UVA rolled the ball to half court all game last time and had 30 seconds to probe on offense. I don't think it's crazy to think they won't be as effective with only 20 seconds.
