It is easy to dislike him when (to use his own words), he's "Bad Jim Boeheim" and is snarky or downright surly. That I've seen first hand and was taken aback by it at the time. After time passes and with reflection, reading his book, seeing interviews like this you get why he is who he is and accept easier the dynamics of the duality of his personality. His good SO far outweighs his negatives is the conclusion it's easy to come to, and furthermore like with DC1 it appears ALL who really know him love him. In listening to that he pretty much explains he's taken his role as a coach, teacher and mentor right to the press conferences where he is tying to get those young reporters ready for a life beyond the soft confines of SU. If we believe what he says they come to appreciate it more later in life which is a good explanation I can accept as that was the one part of him that often rankles me in the past. As for Rome and Davis as they gotten to know him more over the years to see the whole picture they too have softened to the same conclusion above. God bless ya JB, just be a little nicer the next time when someone comes up to you to congratulate and thank you for all you've done and the memories you've created for this town....
