Process of Choosing Captains

Does anyone have a huge problem with the way Marrone chooses his captains? Specifically how he alternates them weekly? My issue is that last year we arguably had problems with chemistry and leadership. In my opinion there needs to be stability within this role.

You identify 3-4 leaders who exhibit leadership in practice and are respected by peers and you award them this title. You stick with these guys and give them the responsibility of fixing internal problems and keeping unity. At work, we don't alternate our managers and employees weekly. It shouldn't be done in football either.

While we're at it, bring back the C for the jerseys. Those guys have earned the right to be identified as Captains by the fans, opponents etc.

Huh??? He did have the same 3 captains all year. Each game was a different 4th captain.

Ok. I thought they were altered more than that. Even so, I think the same group, without any weekly additions needs to stay in place. They should be annointed from day 1 of camp and kept in place through the bowl game.

I thought PP did a good job during his tenure with finding and utilizing his captains effectively. Many of them went on to similar roles in the NFL ie Bulluck and Darius.

Marrone needs to maximize effectiveness from this role. He hasn't done that yet.
