Accn. At 6 is showing pitt/su from 2000. I don't remember this game off the top of my head what's the significance of it?

My nemory of the end of game experience: Nunes runs backwards a lot and then throws the game winning TD. Fans scream at him to get rid of it for like 30 seconds, give a relieved cheer that it actually worked out and we won, and then walk out shaking their heads.

Not true. He did both. He was 7-20 with FG attempts in 2000, which has to be the worst season for any SU placekicker in history.

I was hoping to look back and see a solid season from the K to try and defend P. Boy oh boy did that backfire.

Believe he cost us at least one, possibly two games

Could have been an 8 win season

missed FGs and/ or crushing INT’s cost us the BC, VT, and Cincinatti games from what I remember.

BC and Cincy were what I was thinking
VT in spite of Dwight, our O was just a mess

It was. We shockingly got those early bombs. I can’t help but wonder if we could’ve held that lead without the trip and throw the ball straight up in the air INT. though.

What was coach p thinking playing for a fg in ot when his kicker just missed one?
One of the reasons I was not upset when he was let go. End of regulation moving the ball well with less than a minute. Slowed down and killed the clock for a field goal. Kicker was 1 of 3. Missed 37 and 22. Kick was from 38. Missed.
Over time from 25. 3 straight runs up the middle. Kicker missed again.

Watching that game I just remembered all the talent. A number guys played in the nfl for various periods of time. I was just imagining what Dino could do if he had the same talent.

Freeney Tyree Allen Greenwood Morant.

Mungro too. And Dee Brown had a cup of coffee in the league.

Eric Downing I think. Kyle Johnson(might’ve been hurt that year?), Chris Davis. We were loaded everywhere but QB. Though Morant didn’t play that year other than to go in and block in a blowout, blowing his redshirt. Smh.

Tennessee game, 1998. I’ll never forget that sinking feeling I got on the plays after McNabb’s bomb got us inside the 5 on our last drive, as I realized we were playing for a FG.

Coach P was Coach P

Really good coach but conservative to a fault in tight games.
Which is why he has made for an excellent position coach in the pros, never had a long run as a HC or DC since leaving SU, and has been consistently respected throughout the fraternity.
