...but we need to execute better. It's that simple.

Skilled talent difference was markedly noticeable tonight. Still have a long way to go in that regard.

Too many missed opportunities. Several of our kids got knicked up. Can't hang our heads--have to get ready for Friday.

We also need to play to out strengths... Hunt is only accurate on vertical passes... he is terrible on short passes. We need to start playing to that. Our oline can't block for horizontal plays as they are too slow to get to the perimeter... so stop doing it.

Our D is s total mess though... not sure how to fix it. Bullough can't just blitz every play... he is getting caught out.

Hard to blame the D when they were on the field most of the first 3 quarters.

The D isn't a mess, they're just not getting any help from the O.

The Irish just looked more organized than we did. I don't know if its talent, coaching or both. Its year two under HCSS so it would be nice to see some progress. I like Erv and Ishmael though, I think there is a bright future with those two. I'm curious to see how we evolve, hope the coaches are a part of that evolution.

Which is greater: last time you posted something positive or last time you posted on a non gameday?

365+ days?

How'd we perform the last couple of times we played top 10 teams? We were much more competitive tonight. I'm proud of the team, even though I'm disappointed that they lost. You were leading the charge to give up at the beginning of the 4th quarter. That's what you should be facepalming about.

The O definitely needs work for sure and I know the D was better than our D, but our secondary needs a lot of work. CB's blitzing defense will get burned with any QB with good accuracy that get the ball out quick, or mobile enough to avoid the blitz, because our secondary can't cover. Too many short passes and we can't get off blocks either on those screens.

Our secondary is too thin to the point that I don't really know what you can do with it. We've got 2 experienced corners now with Morgan out, and calling Whigham experienced is a stretch. Whigham really got exposed tonight when he was out on an island. Reddish really is the only vet we've got playing out there. Winfield was a WR up until about 2 months ago.

With as much as we blitz, the corners are going to continue to get targeted. It really comes down to a race between the blitzers getting to the QB and the QB lighting us up down field. We are going to have difficulty all season with accurate QB's downfield anytime they have time to throw. And when they have receivers with elite speed, it's off to the races.

I felt like this was the first time in a long time that I saw multiple guys on both sides of the ball making plays.

I'm atually really encouraged.

We have to pressure till our d-backs get better
