Interesting quote from Marrone:

“Our football conditioning is a concern right now,” he said.

Another fine job by Will Hicks.

If you were paying attention, you could have slammed Hicks last week when this was originally posted. Better late than never, I guess.

What I really don't get about this whole discussion, particularly this time around, if Marrone thinks the team isn't well conditioned and it's the S&C coach's fault, then why not fire the S&C coach?

Doesn't add up. Which is why I amount that particular quote to coachspeak. I would guess this is probably the best conditioned team Marrone has had. Sure he'd like better, they all would.

Who handles the conditioning at practice? Is it Hicks or one of the position coaches? Obviously Hicks is in charge of weight room and off-season conditioning, but does he also run the end-of-practice conditioning as well?

Motivational coachspeak. You have a young team that can play - after last year's debacle to close the season, I can imagine the goal of the staff is to keep these kids focused for the entirety of the schedule.

Kids cone to camp in great shape, but often times conditioning can slip due to distractions (namely bars, booze, an women).

You're going to have to explain that last part to Chip in a PM.

Thanks for at least giving me credit on the bars and booze part. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

One of those groups is the running backs. Marrone said he doesn’t feel comfortable with any one running back being “the guy” right now.
“I wouldn’t right now say, ‘Hey, here’s the guy we’re going to give the ball 30s times to.’
Well, there's an easy solution to that problem. Don't give the ball to one guy 30 times.
