Based solely on the fact that it would help Syracuse overcome the media uproar over saying Davis was out for money.

I don't agree with it yet, but that would have to be the thinking.

There are varying levels of putting your foot in your mouth. Yes, it's not a crime, but you can't have an ambassador for your org, like JB is for SU, saying publicly that people with increasingly-valid accusations about their sexual molestation are liars and extortionists.

Orange, come on, I mean really? Some things are better left unspoken or in this case untyped. I find it pretty hard to believe that JB had an awareness to the extent that he is culpable in any way whatsoever in light of the manner in which he first addressed this issue.

I could see JB quitting if he was told he was suspended. (Especially if he believed he was just confirming what he thought that's what SU's investigation had concluded.) Of course I could never have forseen this entire weird fiasco so what do I know.
