I see people saying this a lot. Perhaps it’s more a comment on his age than readiness.
IMO, Q is not ready to play in the league.

Love his hustle, love his toughness and rebounding and great to see his developing 3 pt shot. And a nice lefty finish last night that I’d never seen before!

But he struggles to finish against any real bigs and he has never beat anyone off the bounce. Those are two glaring weaknesses that will get exposed in the NBA very quickly.
Maybe he wants to get paid and goes to Europe? He could do reasonably well there.

I can't be the only one that thought you were talking about Hillsman. I thought age???????

Definitely not ready to play with the big boys, but when you start seeing your name in mock drafts there is a good possibility he’s out of here.

You don't think this idea is already in their head the minute they are good enough to get a scholarship to play at this level?

You dont think fringe stay or go guys could be influenced by the smallest amount of talk ?

Oshea Brissett comes to mind.

Not that I agree, but like Oshae Q did have first round projections during his freshman year for future mocks. I don’t know why. But both did.

that being said, Q’s undoubtedly been thinking NBA since highschool and just like any other college athlete will make the jump when he feels is most advantageous.

He’ll be back and be an all American as a junior.

I don’t doubt that if he plays well the remainder of the season he could be gone. We have Benny coming in so I’m not worried regardless

Agreed. He needs to add polish in a few areas still. Needs to work on establishing more of a ball fake when he catches it in the post and keep working as a driver. He may get a huge lift from Bourama or may see production fall back. Not sure on that one.

I thought this thread was going to be on Quentin Hillsman.

Or QAnon.
For whom I’m actively hoping it’s the last season.

Quincy will likely bounce if he keeps playing well.
Don’t forget - he’s a year older than most of his peers.

I think he is more NBA ready than Oshae was. That said I hope my Knicks don't sigh him to anything. People are going to have to leave as I don't think Benny came here to play Kadary minutes.

He has the most NBA potential on our roster, but still has some work to do. His positioning in the NBA would be interesting. He's too slow to play the 3 on defense while doesn't have a ton of height when it comes to the 4. I think if he's aiming to have a great chance at succeeding at the next level, he has to be more of a wing guy and keep working on the jumper and getting to the basket.

I agree with everything but first half of sentence 1.

And no this isn’t his last season.

I hope for the best but expect the worse when it's come to guys leaving early in recent years. I agree that I can't see Benny coming here if both Quincy and Griffin are still here, one if not both will be gone next year.

I think that Quincy is "ahead" of schedule. He's shown a massive sophomore leap, and a corresponding ability to knock down threes [whereas perimeter shooting was a glaring weakness last year].

I don't "think" he's a first round candidate, but you never know -- given his rebounding prowess, at > 9rpg, maybe a small ball team would disagree.

Him being NBA caliber is a good thing for our program, whether he leaves this year or next.

Hope he stays.
