THE IMPORTANCE OFTHE 40 YARD DASH FOR>>>> WR’S, LB’S, DB’S & RB’S<<<<

It is primarily run to evaluate the speed and acceleration of American football players by coaches and scouts particularly for the NFL Draft but also for collegiate recruiting. A player's recorded time for every position can have a heavy impact on his prospects in college or professional football.

FAIR - = 4.90 – 5.0+

FAIR = 4.8 - 4.89

GOOD = 4.7 - 4.79

FAST = 4.6 - 4.69

FAST! = 4.5 - 4.59
>>>4.50 40<<<

VERY FAST = 4.4 – 4.49

ELITE = 4.0 – 4.39

CURRENT BEST 40 YARD SPEED ON TEAM: TRANSFER ZEED HAYNES 4.39, MARCELLUS BARNES 4.39. MALACHI JAMES 4.24 FROM BURLINGTON, NJ HAS THE FASTEST 100M IN STATE HISTORY, A 10.18

NOTE: IN MY EVAL’S, NOTICED HC FRAN BROWN’S OFFERS ARE IN THE 4.4 TO 4.6 RANGE AT THE RUNNING BACK, WIDE RECEIVER AND DEFENSIVE BACK POSITIONS. HOWEVER, HCFB’S COMMITMENT TO SPEED AT ALL POSITIONS IS BEING MAINTAINED GOING FORWARD.

Is timing how long you are in the air on a sensor pad how verticals are typically measured? Because that looked like it was about 30", not 40".
Yeah, that was nowhere near 40". It's a good vertical, but it's definitely a weird way to measure vertical.

Highlights are solely playing QB. He's a decent QB prospect but won't play that at SU though. So no good way to really evaluate his DB skills. But the staff must have thought he showed real promise at camp. I'd bet he is a high character, good leader type as well. Welcome Tyrell.

It’s Frantastic!
People keep raving about this recruiting class, but we’re ranked ninth in the ACC. That’s nothing to write home about.
We are getting athletes w field awareness. If these kids have grit and determination I take them over 5 star stat stuffers most times. I want the five star ⭐️ too but unlike prior coaches, I trust frans checklist over recruiting sites.

That still puts us at 28th in the country that is something to write home about
4 4 star recruits (we haven't done that in 30 years), with a handful of guys right at the cusp of 4 stars
We have a punter (#1 overall) and an unranked player so that will bring us down at bit

100% we should be writing home about this
