If LaNorris had stuck with his commitment, Dino probably wouldn't have gotten fired after qualifying for a bowl in 2023, because ADJW wouldn't want to risk losing Sellars.  Beck also stays, grooming his star pupil.  Fan optimism would have been high for 2024, with Sellars in the fold.

Obviously, no Fran Brown.  No McCord.  None of the other big time transfers come here.  So the offensive juggernaut we enjoyed last year doesn't happen.

That said, Norris is probably the closest thing to McNabb we would have had SINCE McNabb -- so he'd no doubt be a force in the ACC.  We probably don't win 10 games, but he'd be good enough for us to win maybe 8.  Some of those games shift around -- for example, maybe we don't beat a Miami or a Cal on the road, but we probably take out Stanford / BC, with LaNorris able to move the ball on the ground.  Option would have been lethal with Sellars / Allen.

LaNorris would be poised for an even bigger sophomore campaign, and we might have seen a decent uptick on the recruiting trail with him generating excitement and Syracuse having some "buzz."

But on the other hand, the OL would still probably be subpar, meaning that Sellars might be subjected to injuries [a la Shrader], having to do too much.  And depth wouldn't be as good as it was under Brown.

Maybe Sellars would be good enough to lift us back to the promised land, kind of like what Dungey was able to do under Dino.  Maybe not.

But I think things worked out for the best.  Happy we have Fran Brown, and excited to see where he takes this program.
