While there definitely needed to be changes to the transfer rules (which previously seemed really unfair to players) and the draconian restrictions on player's ability to earn money while the NCAA and schools raked in millions on their backs, the way things are now with NIL and the transfer portal, along with all of the conference re-alignments, are ruining college athletics for me. I'll forever continue to root for SU, but my enthusiasm for football and basketball has definitely dimmed. It used to be after a disappointing year, or even a fairly good year, you could look forward to seeing how much better the team would be next year as they developed as players and gelled more as a team, but now, it seems half or more of the roster is completely different year to year and we don't get a change to see the players develop over the years like we used to. Yeah, I'm an old fart, I miss the old days, and I need to get used to the new way of things, but I don't have to like it.
