Question about pre-season NIT and Brooklyn

Long time lurker but don’t post much anymore. Originally from Geneva but now living in Memphis. A friend and Ole Miss alum and I are looking at coming up to attend the preseason NIT in Brooklyn over Thanksgiving. I have never attended a game at Barclay’s Center nor have I spent much time in Brooklyn. I’m trying to figure out decent places to stay while we’re in NYC. Are there good spots near Barclay’s to stay/ is it a decent neighborhood? Should I be looking at other spots? I’m thinking Brooklyn would be a little cheaper than Manhattan, but I figured a lot of people here would know better than me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help.

Don’t know the hotel sitch in Brooklyn but I know hotels around Wall St which should be close to Barclays will be dirt cheap since it’s a holiday and wall st will be shut. Maybe Priceline something around there.

From Wall St you can get to Barclays in like 15 mins. Also that area has every subway line so easily accessible.
