Question for the Stat Masters

Which team statistic(s) (offensive or defensive) do you believe have/has the strongest correlation to a Top 25 ranking over the course of a full season against FBS opponents? Very interested to see some opinions on this as my cursory research has me all over the place. Thanks in advance for your input.

the one where the Wins are much higher than the losses.

top 25 doesnt necessarlily mean the best team.

there are some 2 & 3 loss teams out there who would absolutely drill undeafeted and ranked teams.

college is all about offense and points. so that one.

Using the Top 25 as a cutoff as the teams in the Top 25 at the end of the year have usually had pretty successful seasons. Not trying to figure out who should or shouldn't be ranked just the statistics (offensive or defensive) that correlate to who is ranked at the end of the year (not mid-season).

Thanks for the input but for clarification I'm trying to dig a little deeper than PPG or W/L record.
