As we all know, as a result of transitioning from benches to individual seats, football capacity dropped from 49k to 42k. But I just realized that I have no idea how that affects maximum capacity for basketball. It probably hasn't come up since our crowds have been so sparse recently. But if and when the demand for a big-time crowd happens again, how many people can realistically fit in the Dome for a basketball game?

Is 30k still possible with the individual seats? And is the 35k record in 2019 for Duke completely untouchable forever?

Never happen.

The end zone seats are off limits for safety reasons.

We got over 20k a few times while the Gaits were playing. Let's try to get back there first.
I don't know about no end zone seats. A lacrosse ball to the noggin might be a good way to get people off their phones and watching the game.

Have you seen some of our guys shoot? You'd need a safety net 60 yards long.
They have them at the Fairfield U lax stadium. Use them for when PLL games are there in summer so people can walk from one side of the field to the other. There’s also a little grass area to sit and watch. First time a ball comes flying at you as you’re walking is jarring. I would not want to get hit by one of those. Professional guys destroy the ball.

Hofstra just lost to Stony brook last night. They trailed almost from start to finish. And Stony brook (2-4) and Hofstra (4-1) are not the best team in CAA. UNC-Willmington is 5-0 in CAA conference play.
The attendance is 1,890. And some people are proposing B1G should add Stony brook and Buffalo. God bless SU fans and JMA Dome.

CSB: I ran track in college and somehow the track and infield got double booked with the Lacrosse team. There’s a giant net behind the goal area so we decided to roll with it.

We were doing 200m reps and I’m coming out of the turn and I see one of the plastic water bottle crates explode like a damn grenade. Plastic shards and water in a 10’ radius. And then a lacrosse ball bounce away from it. It was a shot from deep that went just outside the net.

Incredible amount of energy in those. After that I figured Lax goalie is the bravest position in conventional sports.

you could always string up nets like they do for baseball now.
