Good list in the original post. Some DE/DTs not mentioned: Boatman, Robinson. In the returning pair of reserve DEs (Sharpe & Robinson), we have a decent start. The question will be whether any one on the squad can compete and win a spot away from those two. On the OL, Lou Alexander might have the lead at the open OG spot. He and Robinson were healthy for Fall practices, but red-shirted, while several others were out with injuries. They look the part, and Alexander is easily old enough to be a senior. WR -- the underclassmen should benefit with Lemon out for the Spring, questions about Sales, and Graham moving on. West has one spot but the others are wide open for the Spring. Hale? Kobena? Who emerges as a wing-back? Position shifts? A DT moving to DE seems likely, but what else? Kinder to WR? Flips between CB and FS? Flips between WR and DB? Usually have surprises in the Spring, as the coaches look for ways to fill in soft spots. Apart from questions about which reserves & RFs can step into leading roles in the classic Marrone Scheme (what we saw last season), we can hope for adjustments and new creativity. We don't have a classic FB -- will we play more sets with two RBs and get Moore on the field? We have talent in Broyld & Hunt, but if Nassib takes all the snaps in a pro set, these guys might sit. But Broyld is the second highest ranked recruit (only Thompson is higher) -- can't afford to have a kid like that redshirt, can we? Will we change up the schemes to get these guys on the field? Did our OC and HC learn anything from watching bowl games? Will we have wide open competition on the OL, or are the returning starters set in stone?
