We're a very young team.

Need better defense and rotation from the guards at the top of the zone.

We lack a vocal leader on the court. I think Cooney could step into that role.

Agree. Cooney has that passion to be a vocal leader.
 
Defense was slow stopping the drive for a stretch once cornell started knocking down those threes. Went on a run at the end of the half by making them pick that dribble up with our secondary defenders and cooney knocking down some shots. Tough without a 3rd go to scorer tonight without jerami, we could really use one in the second half.

Cornell is going to pack the paint thets see how the offense responds.
 
Roberson and BJ both look good. Altho BJ looks a bit lazy to me at times.

Ennis is definitely jittery.

DC2 still has no post game.

Gbjinie seems capable as the backup PG.

We need Grant badly. Offense right now is Cooney and Fair; nothing else.
 
Cooney did it during the last Tv timeout, he pulled the group together and was talking to the group, then he goes out and drills 2 3s to put us back in it.

Frankly our shot selection was pretty terrible overall, and when the other team has a guy going off like Kressler did, you gotta score to keep up, and we didn't play very good offense in the half.
 
It's now the 3rd year in a row where we don't have one player who can post up and score.

I think BJ is just one of those athletes where their length makes you feel like they aren't going full speed, but the dude going hard. Also it might also be mental, the dude is still hesitating (same with Roberson), and it's obvious the game is still moving pretty quick for them.

Been quite happy with Agent Zero so far. I think he's out playing Ennis, who is clearly very nervous tonight. Hopefully he settles down and plays like he is capable of doing.
 
few to no steals, especially up top. cornell didn't make a bad pass all half.
0 transition points.
 
JB sitting Ennis. I understand he's struggling but he might as well make him play through it. Won't have the luxury to sit him vs. the big boys.
 
The lost of Grant is huge because this is the type of team he would dominate with his athleticism. We really need Rak/Keita/Coleman to provide some sort of O in the second half.

I think he's using it more as a teaching opportunity rather than keeping him in there and completely destroying his confidence. No need to make him play 35+ minutes the first game of the season if he's shaky.

When you're down 12 you have to think about winning today. It's one thing to be up by double digits and have Ennis struggle and let him play through it. But Ennis wasn't getting it done and we were losing; had to make the change there.
 
0 points for ennis maybe hes picking his brain and trying to talk him into scoring and getting easy assists we really need that without jerami. I can't see anyone else being our third scoring option unless dajuan/Rak start going from inside and make some foul shots.

Liked Gbinije attacking inside once or twice. nice to have a athlitic guard to attack the offensive boards and rim.

Rak coming out like a leader in the second half. Hes a difference maker. Once Ennis and Grant find themselves if he keeps that up I will be estatic.

Good job by the defense to start the second half. Much better on the pressure and turnovers.
 
so much for cooney shooting 33 percent this year hes going to make enough tonight to automatically be above 50
