Guerrier said "everyone needs to step up" with Bourama Sidibe out. He said he's going to emphasize rebounding and physicality. Personally, using his quick feet will be important there. Guerrier estimates he's up to 90% after playing through a groin injury last year. Said he's feeling "way better" and that factors into his mobility dramatically. Guerrier said he's mostly worked at the 3 and 4 spots even with Sidibe out. Sounds like most of the prep time is being dedicated to lineups with Marek Dolezaj at center rather than preparing a forward to move to center as a reserve. Guerrier said he wants to stay a "monster" in the rebounding department while expanding his game as an outside shooter. Guerrier said the emphasis defensively as a team has been footwork on the perimeter and knowing where shooters are on the court. Guerrier said realizing his feet were quicker than most college bigs keyed his immediate rebounding production as a freshman last year. Guerrier on Niagara: "I think defense is going to be our major key to winning the game." Get stops, get out in transition. That's the gameplan vs. Greg Paulus and Co. Guerrier said Cs Frank Anselem & Jesse Edwards have improved during the preseason. Edwards needs to get stronger. Anselem has impressed with his athleticism; it's more about consistency. "They're improving. They're working hard." Thinks "they'll find their way into the rotation." Guerrier doesn't think the loss of Sidibe will have a dramatic effect on the team's ability to press and play uptempo. Guerrier said he thinks Marek Dolezaj is "the smartest player on the team." Believes he'll create looks for shooters -- something he displayed operating out of the high post vs. Bryant's zone. "I know he's going to make plays for his teammates and help us to win games." Guerrier said he tweaked his shooting mechanics during the offseason and wants to prove himself as a reliable outside shooter this year. "I know I can shoot the ball. I think I probably need more confidence in myself. Said he made 4-5 per game in high school. Guerrier said his teammates and coaches encourage him to keep shooting the outside shot. This isn't a situation where they want him to focus inside. But Quincy reiterates that the confidence needs to come from himself.
