Jordan Evans emerges
Jordan Evans scored five times in Syracuse's 20-7 win in the Dome on Sunday night. Kevin Rice had nine points, and Dylan Donahue chipped in five, but the showing from No. 22 was eye-catching considering his struggles during the past two seasons. Evans scored twice in a freshman year characterized by injury and changing roles. This year he had scored four goals as a member of the second midfield. Evans had shown flashes in the ACC tournament, but naysayers in Central N.Y. went so far as to question his wearing of the legendary number. Those questions were quickly quieted on Sunday. Evans found the net three times in the first quarter, and capped off the scoring with goals No. 19 and 20.
