1. Syracuse — The Orange won a pair of one-goal games over North Carolina and Duke and earned the ACC AQ. Kevin Rice and Nicky Galasso were outstanding at PPL Park. Cleaning up face-off wing play, sloppy offensive turnovers and off-ball defense will be critical this week. The ball-watching and half-way slides to nowhere are concerning. Syracuse fell behind 5-1 before waking up in the second quarter. Six early turnovers on simple exchanges were eye-opening; the Orange EMO went 3 of 4 and makes you pay.

The ACC is 40-3 against out-of-league foes. Expect all five schools to host first-round games. SU travels to Colgate on Saturday to wrap up its regular season.
