6. Syracuse A 6-1 early lead morphed into a grotesque 18-11 home loss in the new-look Carrier Dome. Coverage of cutters, head-on-a-swivel crease defense and two-man game fundamentals were in short supply. This was a simple Army exploitation of some very unsound defensive principles. They all can be fixed and are a symptom of COVID. The Orange have no behind-the-goal offensive presence and generate everything from the top down with their loaded first midfield. Their shorts didn’t perform up to expectation. Did they believe the hype after an undefeated 2020 over marginal competition? Alarmists will overreact to early season setbacks, especially from a team that didn’t have a scrimmage. Otto, take a deep breath and go back to work. Tucker Dordevic scored four times. Chase Scanlan nailed his first shot but then went 0-8 the rest of the way. The game unraveled in striking fashion. Syracuse hosts Virginia on Saturday (ACC Network).

I used to recall Rehfuss working from behind the goal. Did he forget?

The attack was plodding and the stellar midfield was MIA after the first quarter outburst.

Yeah, Quint was generous.

Mr Hiltz, please pick up the orange courtesy phone.

Definintly think Hiltz needs to play attack, but he does not play behind the goal either. Not sure why Rhefuss didn't spend more time back there. Best play that came from X was the Dordevic feed to Rhefuss for a goal ...
